An ardent believer in the potential of all girls and the importance of fostering their individual growth\, character\, and self-sufficiency\, Juliette is credited with establishing and nurturing a global movement that has changed the world.Birth of a Movement.\nA meeting in 1912 with Sir Robert Baden-Powell\, the founder of Boy Scouts\, inspired Juliette to establish Girl Scouts that same year. Telephoning a cousin from her home\, she announced\, “I’ve got something for the girls of Savannah\, and all of America\, and all the world\, and we’re going to start it tonight!” \nFrom that first gathering of a small troop of 18 culturally and ethnically diverse girls\, Juliette broke the conventions of the time—reaching across class\, cultural\, and ethnic boundaries to ensure all girls\, including those with so-called disabilities\, had a place to grow and develop their leadership skills. Using her innate talent for fundraising and public relations\, combined with her vast network of friends and supporters\, she led Girl Scouts with passion and determination—ensuring it was\, and always would be\, an experience that was “girl led.” \nSaturday\, March 7th\, 2026 @ noon \nTaylor Pavilion\, 500 Ocean Ave. N\, Belmar \n  \nFREE & OPEN to the public \nSeating limited\, registration required  \n[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″ icons_position=”left”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″ icons_position=”left”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″ icons_position=”left”][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/EpfCAdt-5ec?si=j_xjhWD3pfN020qp” css=””][vc_empty_space hide_on_wide=”” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″ icons_position=”left”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” hide_bg_image_on_tablet=”” hide_bg_image_on_mobile=”” css=”.vc_custom_1735483771741{margin-right: 25px !important;margin-left: 25px !important;}”][vc_column fix_column=”” hide_bg_image_on_tablet=”” hide_bg_image_on_mobile=”” icons_position=”left” css=”.vc_custom_1735407634847{margin-right: 25px !important;margin-left: 25px !important;}”][vc_btn title=”REGISTER HERE” style=”classic” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2FEb8tV7CJiwRVz354A|title:Living%20History%3A%20Juliette%20Gordon%20Low|target:_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column icons_position=”left”][vc_empty_space hide_on_wide=”” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Dr. Daisy Century brings to life this determined pioneer who overcame tremendous obstacles to achieve her dreams. \nBorn in Texas to a family of sharecroppers\, Coleman’s path to the skies was anything but straightforward. After working multiple jobs to fund her education through 8th grade and a brief stint at Oklahoma Colored Agricultural Normal University\, she set her sights on aviation—a field completely closed to Black women in America. Undeterred\, she learned French\, moved to France\, and earned her pilot’s license in just 8 months. \nDr. Century’s dynamic portrayal captures Coleman’s incredible journey\, thrilling barnstorming adventures\, and parachute stunts that captivated audiences in the 1920s. This performance will inspire attendees of all ages with the story of a woman who refused to let racial and gender barriers ground her dreams. \n  \nSaturday\, March 14th\, 2026 @ noon \nTaylor Pavilion\, 500 Ocean Ave. N\, Belmar \n  \nFREE & OPEN to the public \nSeating limited\, registration required  \n[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/6″ icons_position=”left”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″ icons_position=”left”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″ icons_position=”left”][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/gR9Ci4jES20?si=9PHnS9HXPHzZ1DOa ” css=””][vc_empty_space hide_on_wide=”” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″ icons_position=”left”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” hide_bg_image_on_tablet=”” hide_bg_image_on_mobile=”” css=”.vc_custom_1735483771741{margin-right: 25px !important;margin-left: 25px !important;}”][vc_column fix_column=”” hide_bg_image_on_tablet=”” hide_bg_image_on_mobile=”” icons_position=”left” css=”.vc_custom_1735407634847{margin-right: 25px !important;margin-left: 25px !important;}”][vc_btn title=”REGISTER HERE” style=”classic” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2FHHX9S3RQHNQ3fub38|title:Living%20History%3A%20Bessie%20Coleman|target:_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column icons_position=”left”][vc_empty_space hide_on_wide=”” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]
