In this talk, Anthony explores not only the challenges of loving someone with dementia but also the emotional toll of witnessing them gradually slip away. He shares the transformative role mindfulness and compassion played in helping him cope. Drawing from personal experiences with anxiety, depression, and panic disorder, Anthony reveals how those struggles unexpectedly prepared him to face grief and build emotional resilience, ultimately leading to rediscovered joy.
Attendees will gain insights into dementia and a practical meditation approach that helped the author reframe his pain and find peace. Through storytelling, reflection, and selected readings from his book, this presentation offers inspiration and hope to anyone facing illness, caregiving, or emotional hardship.
Books will be available for purchase and signing. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) to support research and caregiver resources.
