Join Us for a Summer Reading Adventure as we Discover Belmar!
Get ready for a fun-filled summer exploring the Belmar Treasure Trail! This exciting self-guided tour from the Belmar Historical Society takes you on a journey to discover 50 amazing spots that highlight our beautiful shore town. You’ll find treasures around every corner while learning about what makes Belmar such a special place to live and visit! Bring a book and snap a picture while you’re there.

Rules:
- Pick 10 Spots along the Belmar Treasure Trail—one for each week of summer!
- Choose a Book that matches the spot’s theme (you can use the same theme, but not the same book or spot!). Stop by the library for suggestions.
- Snap a Photo of you with your book at each spot!
- Bring Your Photos to the library for printing and get a small prize AND a raffle ticket for one of three super fun Grand Prizes at the Summer Reading Celebration on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM! One prize for grades K-3, another for grades 4-6, and a third for grades 7-8.
- Each book and photo entry is another chance to win one of the grand prizes in September. The more you read, the more chances you have to win!

Prize for 4th – 6th grades is the book My First Photography Journal and an instant print kids camera

Prize for 7th and 8th grades is a Kindle Fire HD 8
Photo Tips for Your Belmar Reading Adventure!
Before You Go
• Check library hours – you’ll need to bring your photo in!
• Choose your location from the Treasure Trail list
• Pick your themed book
• Make sure your camera/phone is charged
• Plan to go with an adult

• Stay on public paths and areas
• Be aware of your surroundings
• Don’t block walkways or roads
• Respect private property and other visitors
Best Photo Practices
- Morning or evening light works best
- Avoid harsh midday sun
- Hold your book where we can see the cover
- Make sure location signs or features are visible
- Take several photos and pick your favorite
- Keep backgrounds clean and uncluttered
- Check that your camera lens is clean

- Cloudy days often make the best photos
- Avoid rainy days – protect your book!
- If it’s sunny, find a shaded spot
