Studio Art & Art History of 20th Century Artists
Maximum Class size 20 in the Lower Level Media Room
Please register your children for each project
This is a series of 7 weekly Summer Art Program sessions will feature a variety of fun art techniques!
Good for all ability levels.
Parental supervision recommended for each project.
No prior art experience necessary.
We will experiment with various materials.
Once you register you will receive a confirmation email.
Thursday, 4pm – July 7 – Claude Monet
Students will be introduced to his waterlilies and create a version of their own.
Thursday, 4pm – July 14 – Georgia O’Keefe
Students will be introduced to her bold flowers and design a composition using oil pastels
Thursday, 4pm – July 21 – Jackson Pollack
Students will learn about his abstract type of drip art followed by an outside studio session to make their own drip art.
Thursday, 4pm – August 4 – Roy Lichtenstein
Known for his comic book style, students will create dramatic pop-art words using ben day dots.
Thursday, 4pm – August 11 – Jasper Johns
Much of his art features numbers and letters. Using stencils we will create an interesting pattern and design.
Thursday, 4pm – August 18 – Frank Stella
Students will be introduced to his abstract style of flat color and shape. Using rulers and protractors, we will recreate.
Thursday, 4pm – August 25 – David Hockney
He creates colorful stylistic landscapes. Students will try to achieve this look through a collage of colored tissue paper.
