Live Art Instruction Sessions IN PERSON AT THE LIBRARY for kids in Grades K-6!

2024 Fall Youth Art Program

Art Inspired by Nature

Artists often find inspiration in the natural world. This means they interact with nature using multiple senses (including sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste) and create works of art that incorporate what they observe. 

 

Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 4pm – Twigs, Flowers & Leaves

Students will create a frame with leaves and flowers being the centerpiece.

Supplies: Twigs, sticks, flowers, leaves, hot glue, string, found materials

 

Friday, October 11, 2024 at 4pm – Seeds

Students will create a mosaic using various seeds in an interesting fall shape.

Supplies: Seeds, cardboard, white glue, sticks, hot glue, string, found materials

 

Friday, November 1, 2024 at 4pm – Pine Cones

Students will create a painted pinecone to celebrate the fall season.

Supplies: Paint, brushes, felt, hot glue, string, found materials

 

Friday, December 13, 2024 at 4pm – Seashells

Students will create a holiday themed design using shells.

Supplies: various sized shells, white glue, board, hot glue, found materials

 

Friday, January 10, 2025 at 4pm – Feathers

Students will create a dream catcher using feathers and beads.

Supplies: Feathers, beads, circle form, white glue, yarn, hot glue, string

 

 

Each lesson lasts about 45-60 minutes.

Good for all ability levels.

No prior art experience necessary.

 

Parents/guardians must accompany children.  No drop-offs please.
